4 New Dental Technologies That Make Smile Perfect

How to stop hiccups when going to dentistry? We are unlikely to be able to answer this question but can easily help find the reasons to overcome fear. There is only one answer: a shamelessly beautiful smile. Today we will tell you about new technologies in aesthetic dentistry that are worth testing!

4 New Dental Technologies That Make Smile Perfect

Plasmolifting

Yes, it sounds a little creepy – like everything that relates to the dentist’s office, but there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of. Plasmolifting is an injection technique for the treatment and prevention of diseases of the oral cavity. First of all, this procedure is performed in order to strengthen the patient’s bone tissue, normalize metabolism, increase local immunity, remove bleeding gums, reduce tooth mobility, eliminate any inflammatory process and bad breath. Also, plasmolifting technique is used during surgical interventions – tooth extraction or the installation of dental implants. Before the procedure, the doctor examines the patient’s oral cavity and determines in which areas the use of this technique is necessary.

The procedure is as follows: in the clinic, a nurse takes a patient’s blood from a vein – everything is exactly the same as in laboratory tests – a total of 10 to 30 ml is needed for the procedure, depending on how many teeth (or the entire jaw) will be treated. Then, platelet-rich plasma is obtained from the collected material. Enriched plasma injections are administered to areas of the oral cavity that need treatment. At the request of the patient, especially if the person has a low pain threshold, the doctor can use local application or injection anesthesia, however, in most cases, the process causes only slight discomfort at the injection site and patients undergo this procedure without pain relief. These injections are completely non-toxic: the “preparation” is completely organic since it is created from the patient’s “own material”, which means that it excludes allergic reactions, the possibility of infection and rejection reactions.

24 hours before the procedure, it is necessary to limit the consumption of fatty and fried foods, alcohol, as well as observe the drinking regime (at least one and a half liters of water per day) and limit stress. The doctor advises taking a course of such procedures: on average, 2-3 procedures are needed with an interval of 7-10 days, and the course can be repeated every 6-12 months.

Enamel biorevitalization

Enamel biorevitalization is a procedure in which the doctor covers the surface of the teeth (enamel) with a very thin and completely invisible film that restores, protects and strengthens it, preventing plaque and a chance to attach to the teeth and stimulating remineralization. The procedure helps to “seal” the tooth tissue in a healthy state, without disrupting the exchange of saliva and trace elements, and the enamel eventually gets some kind of “armor”.

For patients with sensitive teeth, biorevitalization is a salvation from daily pain and discomfort: it seals the dentinal tubules and “seals” the tooth in its original state. The principle of the procedure in dentistry is similar to cosmetic biorevitalization, when specialists “preserve” the patient’s skin condition at the age at which he or she came to the doctor.

The manifestations of caries at the initial stage will disappear after the procedure: the active substance of the serum is strong enough to restore the enamel structure and lost elements. If the doctor finds deep caries in the patient, biorevitalization will have to be postponed until the teeth are completely cured.

Biorevitalization should be repeated every 3-4 years, in some cases – every 5 years.

Invisalign

Invisalign is an alternative method of orthodontic treatment. The result will be the same as with the braces but it is achieved by wearing transparent aligners (or you can also call them mouth guards). In contrast to the braces, which are fixed on each tooth separately, the aligners are put on the entire jaw.

Invisalign uses the original software from Align Company to model the result of treatment with the Invisalign system, it is called ClinCheck and gives the opportunity to simulate the process and the result of treatment even before it begins. It looks like a movie, which shows how the teeth will move at each stage and what result will be achieved at the end of treatment. After treatment with the Invisalign system, as well as after standard orthodontic treatment, a retention – “fixing” – period is necessary. The teeth are fixed with a special retaining material – a retainer – which fixes them in a new position and prevents them from returning to their original position

The duration of orthodontic treatment with the help of aligners is determined individually depending on the diagnosis and the desired result. Usually, treatment can take a year and a half.

CAD / CAM Technology

Technology Computer-Aided Design, or CAD / CAM, is a technology for designing and manufacturing orthopedic structures based on teeth and implants – veneers, inlays, crowns based on implants and abutments for implants – using computer technology.

The advantage of this technology is the speed of manufacturing the structure, the convenience for the doctor and the ability to simulate the shape of the structure individually for the patient, focusing on the anatomical features, reducing the number of stages of manufacturing the structure.

CAD / CAM technology is an advanced version of the drawing board: the doctor can perform three-dimensional modeling and design on the computer. The model created in such a system can be examined in detail from any angle, as well as in any light. So, a specialist can create an orthopedic design for a patient that will not be inferior in “realism” to a natural tooth since it will be modeled taking into account all the physiological characteristics of the patient.

As you see, modern dentistry offers many options for dental prosthetics. Now you can choose the best solution for any problem. The main thing is to find an experienced doctor.
