The clinic is an accredited clinic by the AAAHC and their founder, Dr. Alberto Meza is accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.

Doctors

Dr. Alberto Meza is the first accredited member of the AACD in Costa Rica. He is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and member of the Costa Rican Board of Dentistry. Dr. Meza is able to achieve excellent results utilizing the most advanced dental techniques, making your smile perfect! Dr. Meza graduated from Universidad de Costa Rica in 1996 and received postgraduate training of advanced cosmetic dentistry in UCLA 2007-2009. He also completed post-graduate training in advanced implant dentistry in UCLA 2010-2011.

Dr. Marianella Marín is an Accredited Member of the AACD in Costa Rica and also the first woman to be accredited by the AACD in Latin America. Dr. Marín has been practicing dentistry for more than 10 years. She completing hundreds of full mouth restorations. Marianella graduated from Universidad Latinoamericana de Ciencia y Tecnología ULACIT in 2003 and completed postgraduate training of Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry at UCLA in 2010. She continued education at the Center for Esthetic Excellence. Dr. Marin is recognized by Costa Rican Board of Dentistry. Dr. Marin is also a member of the American Dental Association. In 2016, she completed DSD residency Smile Design in Madrid, Spain.

Dr. José Umaña graduated from Universidad Latina of Costa Rica in 2014 and has become one of the brightest doctors at Meza Dental. He has completed his formation at the Master Clinician Program in California. Dr. José Umaña completed his Master Clinician Program for Implant Dentistry at gIDE/Loma Linda University, CA in 2016 and also underwent rehabilitation with Implant Placement Program Implantec / Biohorizons in 2015-2016. In 2018, he completed postgraduate training of Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry at UCLA.

Dental Tourism

Meza Dental Care invites people from all over the globe to travel to Costa Rica for dental tourism. It’s the act of traveling outside of your home country to get dental care. Dental tourists may travel abroad for a variety of reasons but in most cases, those reasons are driven by cost considerations.

Meza Dental Care is able to offer much cheaper cost due to the two main reasons: rent, taxes, labor costs are lower in Costa Rica than in the U.S. or Canada; and the cost for the same exact brand of dental materials in the U.S. or Canada are lower in Latin America because their economies are smaller.

To visit the clinic as a dental tourist, you contact Meza Dental and get instructed by one of their Patient Coordinators. They may ask you for certain medical documents such as X-rays, past dental records, and pictures of your teeth. Once their doctors have reviewed your dental information, you will get a call from one of the dentists to discuss your options. After you and the dentist have agreed on the necessary treatment, the clinic will inform you about the costs, schedule your treatment plan and help you to arrange your travel. Once you arrive in Costa Rica, their driver will meet you at the airport and bring you to the clinic.

Payments Accepted

Meza Dental Care accepts cash, wire transfers, and most credit cards. Unfortunately, they do not accept any type of checks and do not offer direct financial aid. However, they do accept payments through PayPal who offers financing through PayPal Credit.
